Mexico City
I would like to tell you about Mexico’s typical snack, ‘Nacho’. “Nacho is a Mexican dish of tortilla chips covered with cheese or cheese-based sauce, often served as a snack” (wikipedia). When you eat the ‘Nacho’, you can feel something crispy and nutty. 1943, first Nacho was made by Ignacio Nacho Anaya. It is the original nacho consisted of fried corn tortillas covered with melted cheddar cheese and sliced jalapeño peppers. I had no idea that Nacho has so many, various recipes. In making the Nacho, various toppings are included. For example black beans, cilantro, refried beans, pinto beans, chili con carne, meat, olives, pickles, tomatoes, garlic, onions, elote and scallions are typical toppings. Nacho is generally served as appetizers at the bar or restaurant in U. S and elsewhere. Nacho also has the cheese sauce, if you eat Nacho with sauce, it can add flavor to Nacho. The Nacho and its cheese sauce is excellent combination.

I want to tell you about Stinky Tofu. This is a famous snack in Taipei. Almost every person in earth know this food because Stinky Tofu has serious stench.
Although many people know this Stinky Tofu, but they are afraid to eat Stinky Tofu. Stinky Tofu is the seven odour food of the world. I think Stinky Tofu is the best stench food in the world. Actually Stinky Tofu means bad smell in Chinese. To make Stinky Tofu, they ferment seafood, herb and vegetables to make salt water. Then soak the Tofu into salt water for a day or over a month. This is why Stinky Tofu has serious stench. Stinky Tofu exude like Natto and has very soft texture, so especially aged people like to eat Stinky Tofu. "According to folk stories, stinky tofu was invented by a person named Wang Zhi He (王致和) in the Qing dynasty. However the versions of the exact story are quite varied"(wikipedia) . Thanks to a man, we can see the most amazing food in the world. We can eat Stinky Tofu as four cooking ways. There are deep fried Stinky Tofu, spicy Stinky Tofu, soft Stinky Tofu and Stinky Tofu shashlik. One amazing fact, Stinky Tofu is a healthy food in Taipei. Stinky Tofu has lots of zymogen, so Stinky Tofu is representative fermented food in Taipei.
Mexico City Food Comparison to Taipei Food.
I compared Mexico’s Nacho with Taiwan’s Stinky Tofu. First of all, the two things are regarded as snack in each country, but these have completely opposite characteristics. In part of smell, Stinky Tofu is stinker than Nacho. When I was young I had smelled the Stinky Tofu, I couldn’t forget the smell until now. In part of texture, Nacho is tougher to bite than Stinky Tofu. I think Nacho is more popular snack than Stinky Tofu due to the smell. In my opinion, however, cooking well the Stinky Tofu with proper toppings, it is possible to be a best food in kinds of Tofu. As a result the two snacks are all tasty.
Taipei Food Comparison to Mexico City Food.
Nacho and Stinky Tofu is the same in part of snack, but they have difficult features. First, I think Stinky Tofu is healthier snack than Nacho, because Stinky Tofu has lots of zymogen. Secondly, Stinky Tofu's history is longer than Nacho. Finally, Stinky Tofu has more various cooking ways than Nacho. As you know, Nacho is only fried. I think that the food(snack) represent the country, so if you taste two snacks you can feel another attraction.
